taffs well 11 talywain 15

there are signs of improvement at taffs well, with the young side becoming more competitive,  and although they have lost eight of their ten league games , they have finished within seven points on six occasions. the team is starting to believe in themselves and this was evident again against top of the division talywain.  taffs well took the lead with a try from oliver smith ,followed by a penalty goal from cieron dymond , but the visitors hit back just before half time with a try of their own, leaving taffs well ahead 8-5 at the break .

taffs well increased their lead after fifteen minutes of the second period with a well taken drop goal ,from fullback chris tottle ,and at this point it looked like the home side would hold out for a surprise win  against one of the best sides in the division. as time went on and with taffs well  still leading 11-5 it took a fortuitous try from talywain to get themselves back in the game . at a lineout close to the taffs well line the ball deflected of a taffs well player towards the goal line and a talywain player was quickest to react, pouncing   on the loose ball to score in the corner, and an excellent conversion put them one point in front , this was followed by a penalty goal from talywain in the last minute to denied taffs well and sent the leaders home reflecting on their  lucky escape. coaches keith james ,and rhys bloomburg have done a great job working with what is basically a young side , players likes of myles evans, who was only playing in the first team for the second time showed great maturity, and there is a feeling of better times around the corner
